Modular-Cam: Modular Dynamic Camera-view Video Generation with LLM

Text-to-Video generation, which utilizes the provided text prompt to generate high-quality videos, has drawn increasing attention and achieved great success due to the development of diffusion models recently. Existing methods mainly rely on a pre-trained text encoder to capture the semantic information and perform cross attention with the encoded text prompt to guide the generation of video. However, when it comes to complex prompts that contain dynamic scenes and multiple camera-view transformations, these methods can not decompose the overall information into separate scenes, as well as fail to smoothly change scenes based on the corresponding camera-views. To solve these problems, we propose a novel method, i.e., Modular-Cam. Specifically, to better understand a given complex prompt, we utilize a large language model to analyze user instructions and decouple them into multiple scenes together with transition actions. To generate a video containing dynamic scenes that match the given camera-views, we incorporate the widely-used temporal transformer into the diffusion model to ensure continuity within a single scene and propose CamOperator, a modular network based module that well controls the camera movements. Moreover, we propose AdaControlNet, which utilizes ControlNet to ensure consistency across scenes and adaptively adjusts the color tone of the generated video. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments prove our proposed Modular-Cam's strong capability of generating multi-scene videos together with its ability to achieve fine-grained control of camera movements. Modular Degradation Simulation and Restoration for Under-Display Camera

Under-display camera (UDC) provides an elegant solution for full-screen smartphones. However, UDC captured images suffer from severe degradation since sensors lie under the display. Although this issue can be tackled by image restoration networks, these networks require large-scale image pairs for training. To this end, we propose a modular network dubbed MPGNet trained using the generative adversarial network (GAN) framework for simulating UDC imaging. Specifically, we note that the UDC imaging degradation process contains brightness attenuation, blurring, and noise corruption. Thus we model each degradation with a characteristic-related modular network, and all modular networks are cascaded to form the generator. Together with a pixel-wise discriminator and supervised loss, we can train the generator to simulate the UDC imaging degradation process. Furthermore, we present a Transformer-style network named DWFormer for UDC image restoration. For practical purposes, we use depth-wise convolution instead of the multi-head self-attention to aggregate local spatial information. Moreover, we propose a novel channel attention module to aggregate global information, which is critical for brightness recovery. We conduct evaluations on the UDC benchmark, and our method surpasses the previous state-of-the-art models by 1.23 dB on the P-OLED track and 0.71 dB on the T-OLED track, respectively.

ZS-VCOS: Zero-Shot Video Camouflaged Object Segmentation By Optical Flow and Open Vocabulary Object Detection

Camouflaged object segmentation presents unique challenges compared to traditional segmentation tasks, primarily due to the high similarity in patterns and colors between camouflaged objects and their backgrounds. Effective solutions to this problem have significant implications in critical areas such as pest control, defect detection, and lesion segmentation in medical imaging. Prior research has predominantly emphasized supervised or unsupervised pre-training methods, leaving zero-shot approaches significantly underdeveloped. Existing zero-shot techniques commonly utilize the Segment Anything Model (SAM) in automatic mode or rely on vision-language models to generate cues for segmentation; however, their performances remain unsatisfactory, due to the similarity of the camouflaged object and the background. This work studies how to avoid training by integrating large pre-trained models like SAM-2 and Owl-v2 with temporal information into a modular pipeline. Evaluated on the MoCA-Mask dataset, our approach achieves outstanding performance improvements, significantly outperforming existing zero-shot methods by raising the F-measure (F_beta^w) from 0.296 to 0.628. Our approach also surpasses supervised methods, increasing the F-measure from 0.476 to 0.628. Additionally, evaluation on the MoCA-Filter dataset demonstrates an increase in the success rate from 0.628 to 0.697 when compared with FlowSAM, a supervised transfer method. A thorough ablation study further validates the individual contributions of each component. SCOPE: Real-Time Natural Language Camera Agent at the Edge

Deploying language-driven agents in robotics requires evaluations that reflect real-world task demands: natural-language instructions with reproducible outcomes. Such agents must connect language models to callable perception and control tools, and be assessed using deployment-critical metrics including latency, accuracy, and error modes. We present SCOPE (Simulation and Camera Operations for Perception and Evaluation), a modular agent for natural-language, open-vocabulary pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera control and visual scene understanding, designed explicitly for edge deployment. SCOPE operates both in a Blender-based simulation environment and on a physical PTZ camera, executing all perception, planning, and control locally at the deployment site using edge-accessible compute. We release a 536-task benchmark spanning QA, single- and multi-step commands, counting, spatial reasoning, descriptions, and optical character recognition in a Blender-based simulation environment that exposes realistic PTZ control affordances. Execution traces are combined with an LM-as-Judge to evaluate latency, accuracy, and error modes. We evaluate 19 planner-perception model combinations pairing Qwen3 small language models (SLMs) with Moondream and Qwen vision-language models (VLMs). Stronger SLMs substantially reduce hallucinations and improve tool routing, leading to more reliable closed-loop behavior. Once a sufficiently capable SLM is used, perception becomes the dominant performance bottleneck. Mixture-of-Experts models on both the planning and perception side consistently match or exceed dense alternatives at latencies and memory footprints comparable to much smaller networks. Quantization provides additional efficiency gains with minimal accuracy degradation, identifying a practical, sim-to-real validated design point for real-time, edge-feasible language-driven PTZ control.

Towards Robust and Generalizable Lensless Imaging with Modular Learned Reconstruction

Lensless cameras disregard the conventional design that imaging should mimic the human eye. This is done by replacing the lens with a thin mask, and moving image formation to the digital post-processing. State-of-the-art lensless imaging techniques use learned approaches that combine physical modeling and neural networks. However, these approaches make simplifying modeling assumptions for ease of calibration and computation. Moreover, the generalizability of learned approaches to lensless measurements of new masks has not been studied. To this end, we utilize a modular learned reconstruction in which a key component is a pre-processor prior to image recovery. We theoretically demonstrate the pre-processor's necessity for standard image recovery techniques (Wiener filtering and iterative algorithms), and through extensive experiments show its effectiveness for multiple lensless imaging approaches and across datasets of different mask types (amplitude and phase). We also perform the first generalization benchmark across mask types to evaluate how well reconstructions trained with one system generalize to others. Our modular reconstruction enables us to use pre-trained components and transfer learning on new systems to cut down weeks of tedious measurements and training. As part of our work, we open-source four datasets, and software for measuring datasets and for training our modular reconstruction.

PALMS+: Modular Image-Based Floor Plan Localization Leveraging Depth Foundation Model

Indoor localization in GPS-denied environments is crucial for applications like emergency response and assistive navigation. Vision-based methods such as PALMS enable infrastructure-free localization using only a floor plan and a stationary scan, but are limited by the short range of smartphone LiDAR and ambiguity in indoor layouts. We propose PALMS+, a modular, image-based system that addresses these challenges by reconstructing scale-aligned 3D point clouds from posed RGB images using a foundation monocular depth estimation model (Depth Pro), followed by geometric layout matching via convolution with the floor plan. PALMS+ outputs a posterior over the location and orientation, usable for direct or sequential localization. Evaluated on the Structured3D and a custom campus dataset consisting of 80 observations across four large campus buildings, PALMS+ outperforms PALMS and F3Loc in stationary localization accuracy -- without requiring any training. Furthermore, when integrated with a particle filter for sequential localization on 33 real-world trajectories, PALMS+ achieved lower localization errors compared to other methods, demonstrating robustness for camera-free tracking and its potential for infrastructure-free applications. CAMELTrack: Context-Aware Multi-cue ExpLoitation for Online Multi-Object Tracking

Online multi-object tracking has been recently dominated by tracking-by-detection (TbD) methods, where recent advances rely on increasingly sophisticated heuristics for tracklet representation, feature fusion, and multi-stage matching. The key strength of TbD lies in its modular design, enabling the integration of specialized off-the-shelf models like motion predictors and re-identification. However, the extensive usage of human-crafted rules for temporal associations makes these methods inherently limited in their ability to capture the complex interplay between various tracking cues. In this work, we introduce CAMEL, a novel association module for Context-Aware Multi-Cue ExpLoitation, that learns resilient association strategies directly from data, breaking free from hand-crafted heuristics while maintaining TbD's valuable modularity. At its core, CAMEL employs two transformer-based modules and relies on a novel association-centric training scheme to effectively model the complex interactions between tracked targets and their various association cues. Unlike end-to-end detection-by-tracking approaches, our method remains lightweight and fast to train while being able to leverage external off-the-shelf models. Our proposed online tracking pipeline, CAMELTrack, achieves state-of-the-art performance on multiple tracking benchmarks. Our code is available at https://github.com/TrackingLaboratory/CAMELTrack.

SAM3-Adapter: Efficient Adaptation of Segment Anything 3 for Camouflage Object Segmentation, Shadow Detection, and Medical Image Segmentation

The rapid rise of large-scale foundation models has reshaped the landscape of image segmentation, with models such as Segment Anything achieving unprecedented versatility across diverse vision tasks. However, previous generations-including SAM and its successor-still struggle with fine-grained, low-level segmentation challenges such as camouflaged object detection, medical image segmentation, cell image segmentation, and shadow detection. To address these limitations, we originally proposed SAM-Adapter in 2023, demonstrating substantial gains on these difficult scenarios. With the emergence of Segment Anything 3 (SAM3)-a more efficient and higher-performing evolution with a redesigned architecture and improved training pipeline-we revisit these long-standing challenges. In this work, we present SAM3-Adapter, the first adapter framework tailored for SAM3 that unlocks its full segmentation capability. SAM3-Adapter not only reduces computational overhead but also consistently surpasses both SAM and SAM2-based solutions, establishing new state-of-the-art results across multiple downstream tasks, including medical imaging, camouflaged (concealed) object segmentation, and shadow detection. Built upon the modular and composable design philosophy of the original SAM-Adapter, SAM3-Adapter provides stronger generalizability, richer task adaptability, and significantly improved segmentation precision. Extensive experiments confirm that integrating SAM3 with our adapter yields superior accuracy, robustness, and efficiency compared to all prior SAM-based adaptations. We hope SAM3-Adapter can serve as a foundation for future research and practical segmentation applications. Code, pre-trained models, and data processing pipelines are available.

DexVerse: A Modular Benchmark for Multi-Task, Multi-Embodiment Dexterous Manipulation

Building general-purpose dexterous manipulation policies requires benchmarks that go beyond isolated tasks to systematically evaluate policies across diverse interaction modes, sensory conditions, and robot embodiments. However, existing benchmarks remain limited in task and data diversity, embodiment coverage, or controllable visual variation, hindering studies of cross-task and cross-embodiment generalization. We present DexVerse, a large-scale and modular benchmark for dexterous manipulation. DexVerse includes 100 tasks spanning a broad range of manipulation skills, including object grasping and relocation, articulated-object interaction, functional tool use, bimanual coordination, non-prehensile control, contact-rich behaviors, multi-goal execution, and long-horizon multi-stage task completion. It supports 3 robot arms and 6 dexterous hands, and is extensible to new tasks, assets, and embodiments. To evaluate visuomotor generalization, DexVerse provides configurable visual variations in textures, background, lighting, and camera viewpoints. We further provide a VR-based teleoperation interface and 3,180 demonstrations with synchronized proprioceptive, RGB, depth, point-cloud, and state observations. We benchmark representative methods, including Diffusion Policy, DP3, OpenVLA, and π_{0.5}, across 19 tasks. Results reveal substantial challenges in task generalization and visuomotor robustness, establishing DexVerse as a promising testbed for general-purpose dexterous manipulation. Efficient Visual Computing with Camera RAW Snapshots

Conventional cameras capture image irradiance on a sensor and convert it to RGB images using an image signal processor (ISP). The images can then be used for photography or visual computing tasks in a variety of applications, such as public safety surveillance and autonomous driving. One can argue that since RAW images contain all the captured information, the conversion of RAW to RGB using an ISP is not necessary for visual computing. In this paper, we propose a novel ρ-Vision framework to perform high-level semantic understanding and low-level compression using RAW images without the ISP subsystem used for decades. Considering the scarcity of available RAW image datasets, we first develop an unpaired CycleR2R network based on unsupervised CycleGAN to train modular unrolled ISP and inverse ISP (invISP) models using unpaired RAW and RGB images. We can then flexibly generate simulated RAW images (simRAW) using any existing RGB image dataset and finetune different models originally trained for the RGB domain to process real-world camera RAW images. We demonstrate object detection and image compression capabilities in RAW-domain using RAW-domain YOLOv3 and RAW image compressor (RIC) on snapshots from various cameras. Quantitative results reveal that RAW-domain task inference provides better detection accuracy and compression compared to RGB-domain processing. Furthermore, the proposed ho-Vision generalizes across various camera sensors and different task-specific models. Additional advantages of the proposed ρ-Vision that eliminates the ISP are the potential reductions in computations and processing times.

The Denario project: Deep knowledge AI agents for scientific discovery

We present Denario, an AI multi-agent system designed to serve as a scientific research assistant. Denario can perform many different tasks, such as generating ideas, checking the literature, developing research plans, writing and executing code, making plots, and drafting and reviewing a scientific paper. The system has a modular architecture, allowing it to handle specific tasks, such as generating an idea, or carrying out end-to-end scientific analysis using Cmbagent as a deep-research backend. In this work, we describe in detail Denario and its modules, and illustrate its capabilities by presenting multiple AI-generated papers generated by it in many different scientific disciplines such as astrophysics, biology, biophysics, biomedical informatics, chemistry, material science, mathematical physics, medicine, neuroscience and planetary science. Denario also excels at combining ideas from different disciplines, and we illustrate this by showing a paper that applies methods from quantum physics and machine learning to astrophysical data. We report the evaluations performed on these papers by domain experts, who provided both numerical scores and review-like feedback. We then highlight the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of the current system. Finally, we discuss the ethical implications of AI-driven research and reflect on how such technology relates to the philosophy of science. SMASH: Mastering Scalable Whole-Body Skills for Humanoid Ping-Pong with Egocentric Vision

Existing humanoid table tennis systems remain limited by their reliance on external sensing and their inability to achieve agile whole-body coordination for precise task execution. These limitations stem from two core challenges: achieving low-latency and robust onboard egocentric perception under fast robot motion, and obtaining sufficiently diverse task-aligned strike motions for learning precise yet natural whole-body behaviors. In this work, we present \methodname, a modular system for agile humanoid table tennis that unifies scalable whole-body skill learning with onboard egocentric perception, eliminating the need for external cameras during deployment. Our work advances prior humanoid table-tennis systems in three key aspects. First, we achieve agile and precise ball interaction with tightly coordinated whole-body control, rather than relying on decoupled upper- and lower-body behaviors. This enables the system to exhibit diverse strike motions, including explosive whole-body smashes and low crouching shots. Second, by augmenting and diversifying strike motions with a generative model, our framework benefits from scalable motion priors and produces natural, robust striking behaviors across a wide workspace. Third, to the best of our knowledge, we demonstrate the first humanoid table-tennis system capable of consecutive strikes using onboard sensing alone, despite the challenges of low-latency perception, ego-motion-induced instability, and limited field of view. Extensive real-world experiments demonstrate stable and precise ball exchanges under high-speed conditions, validating scalable, perception-driven whole-body skill learning for dynamic humanoid interaction tasks.

MuJoCo-Drones-Gym: A GPU-Accelerated Multi-Drone Simulator for Control and Reinforcement Learning

Robotic simulators are a cornerstone of modern research in aerial robotics, serving both as a vehicle for the development of new control algorithms and as the data source for training reinforcement learning (RL) policies. Yet, existing quadcopter learning environments often face a trade-off between physical fidelity, multi-agent support, and the throughput required by modern deep RL pipelines. In this paper, we present MuJoCo-Drones-Gym, an open-source Gymnasium-compatible multi-drone environment built on top of the MuJoCo physics engine. MuJoCo-Drones-Gym supports an arbitrary number of Bitcraze Crazyflie 2.x nano-quadcopters and exposes a modular API for selecting (i)~the physics model (rigid-body MuJoCo, explicit Python dynamics, or any subset of ground effect, blade drag, and inter-drone downwash), (ii)~the action interface (per-motor RPMs, collective normalized thrust, velocity setpoints, or PID waypoint commands), and (iii)~the observation space (kinematic state vectors, RGB / depth / segmentation cameras, or neighbourhood adjacency information). A PettingZoo ParallelEnv wrapper enables drop-in multi-agent reinforcement learning, while a suite of seven task environments, hover, velocity tracking, multi-drone hover, waypoint navigation, formation flight, gate racing, and a generic multi-agent template, demonstrates the breadth of the interface. We describe the environment design, the underlying physics and quadcopter dynamics, and illustrate its use through control and learning examples that mirror those of the closely related gym-pybullet-drones project, while taking advantage of MuJoCo's improved contact handling, rendering, and parallelizability.

AVControl: Efficient Framework for Training Audio-Visual Controls

Controlling video and audio generation requires diverse modalities, from depth and pose to camera trajectories and audio transformations, yet existing approaches either train a single monolithic model for a fixed set of controls or introduce costly architectural changes for each new modality. We introduce AVControl, a lightweight, extendable framework built on LTX-2, a joint audio-visual foundation model, where each control modality is trained as a separate LoRA on a parallel canvas that provides the reference signal as additional tokens in the attention layers, requiring no architectural changes beyond the LoRA adapters themselves. We show that simply extending image-based in-context methods to video fails for structural control, and that our parallel canvas approach resolves this. On the VACE Benchmark, we outperform all evaluated baselines on depth- and pose-guided generation, inpainting, and outpainting, and show competitive results on camera control and audio-visual benchmarks. Our framework supports a diverse set of independently trained modalities: spatially-aligned controls such as depth, pose, and edges, camera trajectory with intrinsics, sparse motion control, video editing, and, to our knowledge, the first modular audio-visual controls for a joint generation model. Our method is both compute- and data-efficient: each modality requires only a small dataset and converges within a few hundred to a few thousand training steps, a fraction of the budget of monolithic alternatives. We publicly release our code and trained LoRA checkpoints.
